A wide range of possibilities which ranges from regular programmes to direct work with intervention specialists, including the possibility of choosing saturday, holiday or online classes for those who prefer.

At the centre of our delivery is subject knowledge and subject expertise. Without this learning is not possible. This is why we recruit subject specialists who understand that positive relationships underpin learning and progress. Learners are approached respectfully but with challenge; learners need challenge in a safe, supportive environment.

We do not adopt “boot camp” approaches, integrate over-intrusive discipline approaches into our delivery or use unproven pseudo-scientific methods. We believe these approaches actually feed into the very problems that cause many young people to disengage from learning in the first place.

Master classes are aimed at those learners who are aiming for the very highest grades of 6 + and in particular, grades 7 – 9.
When only a small number of learners are involved or the geographical location or sending a consultant is cost-prohibitive.
MFL: Specialist Interventions
An expert team of the very best linguists to work across the Primary & Secondary phases in schools and academies.
Designed alongside you to meet the needs of your learners and your context.
For these pupils who could pass a GCSE with some assistance but this expertise is not readily available in the school.

Master classes are aimed at those learners who are aiming for the very highest grades of 6+ and in particular, grades 7–9. They are available for delivery by our expert consultants in your school or academy face-to-face or they can be delivered online.

They are available in all subject areas and are delivered by excellent practitioners who have:

  • Outstanding subject knowledge
  • A thorough understanding of the link between assessment and subject knowledge
  • A track record of achieving excellent outcomes with learners.

Master Classes might focus on a particular paper, a particular question or even a specific assessment objective or skill. These sessions are designed to meet the needs of your contexts, your teaching teams and most importantly, your learners. Bespoke materials are given to learners as part of the package.

Master classes can be designed so that they meet the needs of your learners, context and needs as identified by your observations or data. For example, for GCSE English Language they might focus on a particular type of writing or a particular reading question.

However you want to approach it and whatever you want to focus on, the aim is the same: to achieve the very highest grades for your learners.

• Masterclass on Unseen Poetry
• Secure a Grade 7-9 on the Shakespeare question
GCSE Mathematics
• Pythagoras’ theorem and trigonometry in 3D
• Transformations of graphs
GCSE Science
• I V characteristics of various devices
• Quantitative Chemistry
• Transport in cells

These programmes are designed for specific groups of learners where there is an urgent need to make progress. These groups include:

  • Those learners who need and are capable of shifting their performance levels from Grades 3 to 4 and Grades 4 to 5
  • Those needing “recovery programmes” because their learning has been affected by their absence or the absence of a specialist teacher.

These programmes are available in all subjects and focus on the fine skills and content detail of the particular specification that pupils need to master to ensure that they move towards their target grade and consolidate their performance.

Progress Now! Programmes can focus on the whole subject or specific areas where the learners have been shown, through data analysis, to require additional support. Examples of content we have run include:

  • GCSE English Language
  • Paper 1 Writing
  • GCSE English Language (Paper 1 & Paper 2 Writing)
  • Paper 1, Reading Fiction
